(Certified Disability Owned Business Enterprise) The Biologist will support Process Development for client therapeutic candidates through hands-on, bench-level research and laboratory operations. This role involves executing experimental work, preparing buffers and samples, maintaining laboratory systems, and collaborating cross-functionally with Analytical Development teams to ensure efficient sample management and data integrity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator with a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Key Responsibilities
Execute AAV batch production to support nonclinical research needs. Passage and split cells regularly for use in ongoing lab studies. Perform PCR and related molecular analyses on samples generated by the Process Development team. Prepare aliquots for study samples and maintain -80°C and LN2 freezer inventories. Record detailed experimental procedures and results in electronic lab notebooks (ELN). Manage the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments. Critically assess and interpret data from cell and molecular biology experiments. Support lab operations including inventory tracking, reagent preparation, and equipment upkeep. Serve as a liaison with the Analytical Development team for sample submissions and tracking. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with 3+ years of laboratory research experience; or a Master’s degree with relevant academic or industry experience. Strong understanding of molecular and cellular biology principles and techniques. Hands-on experience with molecular biology and cell culture methods, including aseptic technique, transient transfection, and ddPCR. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to handle high-value biological samples responsibly. Prior experience with protein expression systems. Experience working with HEK293 and/or Sf9 cell culture systems. Previous exposure to viral vector gene therapy, preferably AAV-based systems. Seniority level
