Lateral Transfer - Police Officer/Peace Officer - November 2025 Apply for this position if you are AZPOST Certified or are a sworn peace officer outside the State of Arizona with at least one year of experience.

The Phoenix Police Department is offering a $7,500 hiring bonus to new Police Officer/Peace Officers. The bonus will be paid in two equal installments – on the check after swearing in as a Phoenix Police Officer and on the check following successful completion of probation. If you are referred by a current city employee, that employee may receive a $2,500 bonus when you have successfully been hired and passed probation. The name of the referring city employee and employee ID must be specified on the application.

SALARY Pay Range: $35.75 - $51.84 hourly / $74,360 - $107,827 annually. Hiring Range: $35.75 - $47.23 hourly / $74,360 - $98,238 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Aurizon applicants must have AZPOST certification and be in good standing.

Applicants certified in another state must have at least one full year of experience as a first responder (excluding academy, administrative, training assignments, or jail detention officer duties).

Shift work: Employees must work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Vacation and shift assignments are based on seniority.

Physical requirements: Walking for prolonged periods on rough or uneven surfaces, working outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, or dust.
