Addictions Specialist 1, 2, or 3 - Adult Treatment Team - Bilingual Preferred
Alcohol & Drug Department (Classification 711, 712, 713). SEIU Represented Full Time (37.5 hours/week) position.
Salary
Addictions Specialist 1: $4,848 - $6,184 depending on qualifications
Addictions Specialist 2: $5,342 - $6,818 depending on qualifications
Addictions Specialist 3: $5,890 - $7,521 depending on qualifications
Position Summary This position is open until filled. Linn County requires on-site work; remote work not available. The primary function of this role will be offering outreach services across Linn County to individuals charged with minor drug‑related offenses. Outreach may include screenings, ASAM assessments, referrals, warm handoffs, motivational interviewing, and coordination with the legal system.
Responsibilities
Provide outpatient substance use disorder and co‑occurring mental health treatment services to adults and families, including clients on parole or probation and DHS Child Welfare parents.
Deliver individual, group, and family therapy; conduct substance use and mental disorder evaluations.
Offer case management, community education, and consultation services in Program clinics and at community agencies.
Conduct outreach with minor drug offense clients to align with judicial system aims to deflect charges.
Work closely with Parole & Probation, DHS Child Welfare, and community resources to support entry to treatment and ongoing services.
Perform evening work and travel to outlying Linn County clinics as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Addictions Specialist 1: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field; at least one year of supervised practicum experience in addiction treatment.
Addictions Specialist 2: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field; at least three years professional or supervised practicum experience in addiction treatment (or five years with a bachelor’s degree).
Addictions Specialist 3: Master’s degree; at least two years post‑master supervised experience in a similar position and four years supervised experience in addiction treatment.
Certification
Addictions Specialist 1: Oregon certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor – Level One (exceptions for other qualified candidates).
Addictions Specialist 2: Level One (Master’s) or Level Two (Bachelor’s).
Addictions Specialist 3: Oregon licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Level Two certification.
Bilingual language skills are preferred.
Must pass a criminal history check.
Must possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Will need to complete IRS I‑9 employment eligibility verification within three days of hire.
Non‑supervisory position; no lead work or coordination of others.
