About You We’re seeking a result‑focused, innovative, self‑driven individual to join our team as an Environmental Health and Safety Technician. Based in Torrington, you will develop and deliver EHS training, manage compliance, and maintain hazardous‑waste operations and emergency‑response training, including 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification and periodic refreshers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage compliance for assigned environmental, health, and safety programs by developing procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring alignment with US EPA, CT DEEP, and OSHA mandates.

Plan and conduct environmental inspections and program assessments, review permits, stormwater and SPCC plans, and track corrective actions to closure.

Develop and deliver EHS training programs for site employees, maintain completion records, and implement hazardous‑waste operations and emergency‑response training.

Administer industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling, conduct air monitoring and multimedia sampling, interpret results, and log data for compliance.

Oversee hazardous‑waste management, directing accumulation‑area controls, inspections, recordkeeping, vendor coordination, and employee training per RCRA and transport rules.

Track, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance indicators through incident systems, investigations, and corrective actions.

Recommend improvements to procedures based on inspection and sampling trends, and submit document revisions for approval.

Maintain compliance calendars, documentation, and inspection readiness, supporting agency and customer audits as the site point‑of‑contact.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in EH&S consulting, chemical manufacturing, or industrial environment.

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, toxicology, or related field.

Current OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER training, RCRA/DOT/IATA/IMDG training.

Experience with industrial hygiene equipment and monitoring/sampling.

Good knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, and NFPA standards.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent teamwork skills.

Adaptability to changing scenarios and travel up to 15% within North America.

Salary Range Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range of $73,000 – $105,000. The range listed is one component of our total compensation package.
