Lead Terminal/Civil Aviation Cost Estimator – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Duties and Responsibilities The Lead Cost Estimator will develop detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects (highway, bridge, tunnel, airport, building construction, renovation, etc.). Tasks include preliminary conceptual estimates, design‑stage estimates, change order estimates, claims estimates, and “what‑if” scenario analyses. The estimator will review and comment on estimates produced by others, author technical reports, coordinate with construction schedulers, and interface with project owners, designers, engineers, suppliers, and contractors. Participation in project meetings, negotiations, risk analysis studies, and value engineering studies is required.
Qualifications
At least 10 years of aviation cost‑estimating experience on vertical or civil projects.
Experience with terminal construction, baggage handling systems, apron rehabilitation, taxiway improvements, airfield electrical, and utility infrastructure.
Highly proficient in laptop/desktop use and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Software (preferred).
Experience with digitizer or on‑screen takeoff software (preferred).
CPM scheduling experience (preferred).
Thorough understanding of construction processes and ability to read plans, specifications, and develop crew/equipment production rates.
Positive attitude, calm demeanor, friendly personality, and collaborative work style.
Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normal daytime hours, with potential overtime during project deadlines.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Position is onsite at Austin‑Bergstrom International Airport.
Other Requirements Employees assigned to driving duties must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record per Keville’s driving policy. OSHA 10 certification is required. This employer participates in E‑Verify. Background checks required for pre‑employment screening.

$90,000 – $130,000 (depending on experience).
