Purpose of Position The Immersive Technology 3D Content Specialist specializes in the development of immersive media products used in the delivery of training. Responsible for developing training products to the highest quality taking computer equipment capacity, delivery limitations and end user experience into consideration. Specialist may be assigned to different areas specific to immersive technology development across the entire technical band including hard / organic surface 3D modeling, lighting, texturing, and rigging / animation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop hard surface models from references (photographs, technical data, etc.) with focus on real time rendering application.
3D hard surface model optimization of OEM provided model data, structuring for real time rendering.
Model texturing and lighting.
Static model rendering.
Estimate and document development hours.
Adhere to team guidelines for project and task tracking.
Adhere to project workflows, timelines and milestones.
Participate in daily-standup and required agile ceremonies.
Adhere to written guidelines for source control management.
Contribute to documentation and knowledge bases.
Report progress, identify and elevate risk to Courseware Technology leadership.
Complete other tasks as required
Travel as required for the position.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree required, however 5+ years in an immersive environment development position can be substituted for the degree requirement.
Minimum Experience
Four (4) years minimum experience
If internal, 18 months in current position
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience and proficieincy with 3D hard surface medeling, Low Poly game engine optimization techniques, and procedural texturing.
Experience and proficiency with Unity, Unreal or equivalent environments.
Experience and proficiency with Blender (Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema 4D, or equivalent 3D tool knowledge is useful but FSI uses Blender primarily).
Experience and working knowledge of UV unwrapping, Texturing, (including procedural texturing), Materials, Lighting techniques.
Experience and working knowledge of knowledge of object rigging and animation techniques.
Experience and proficiency with 360 panoramic photography and image stitching preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner.
Adaptability to rapid changes and perform in a fast-paced work environment.
Results-oriented with high drive to achieve objectives and standards with little supervisor guidance.
Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
