Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team specializing in Contested Litigation. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for supporting attorneys in this practice area by conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, maintaining and organizing files, and communicating with clients.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Legal Studies or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
Certification from an accredited legal assistant program
Proven experience working as a Legal Assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department
Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and research techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal research databases
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals specific to Contested Litigation
Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles pertaining to Contested Litigation
Organize and maintain legal files and documents related to Contested Litigation cases
Coordinate and schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings for Contested Litigation matters
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel regarding Contested Litigation cases
Prepare and manage correspondence between attorneys and clients in Contested Litigation matters
Assist with trial preparation and trial attendance in Contested Litigation cases
Provide administrative support to the legal team specialized in Contested Litigation as needed
