Human Resources Generalist
Location: Onsite in Lenexa, KS
Employment Type: Full Time – Direct Hire
We are seeking a hands‑on Human Resources Generalist to support day‑to‑day HR operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for executing key HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR systems administration. The position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with employees and supervisors across all departments.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, approachable, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment where teamwork and integrity are valued.
Key Responsibilities
Administer daily HR activities including onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding
Process weekly payroll accurately and maintain HRIS data integrity
Support benefits administration and assist employees with benefits‑related questions
Manage employee leave programs (FMLA, short‑term disability, etc.)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Coordinate performance review timelines and support managers throughout the process
Maintain employee files and confidential records in accordance with company policy
Partner with supervisors and managers to maintain a positive, safe, and compliant workplace
Assist with safety reporting, workers’ compensation claims, and employee engagement initiatives
Coordinate training sessions and track completion in the Learning Management System (LMS)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; Paylocity or Dayforce preferred
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
This position is based in an office located within a manufacturing facility. Occasional time on the factory floor is required, with adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
