Quanex is looking for a Sr. Fixed Asset Analyst to join our team located in Akron, Ohio.
The Senior Fixed Asset Analyst plays a key role in managing and maintaining Quanex’s global fixed asset accounting and reporting processes. This position ensures the accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets, supports project accounting for major capital initiative, and provides analytical insight to Finance, Operations and Corporate leadership. This role requires a strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX controls and ERP systems used in a multi-segment, multi-currency environment.

What Success Looks Like :
Manage and maintain the company’s fixed asset subledger for US and international entities in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
Review and process asset additions, retirements, transfers and depreciation runs on a monthly basis.
Partner with plant controllers, project managers, and operations leaders to ensure accurate tracking of capital expenditures (CapEx) and project costs.
Perform detailed reconciliations between the fixed asset subledger and general ledger, resolving discrepancies timely.
Support month, quarterly and annual close processes, including journal entries, roll-forwards, and related reporting.
Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP) balances to ensure timely capitalization of completed projects.
Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, schedules and explanations as requested.
Ensure compliance with SOX controls related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.
Assist in developing and maintaining global fixed asset policies and procedures to drive consistency and control.
Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting related to capital spending, depreciation trends and asset utilization.
Payback analysis on capital projects.
Support system upgrades, implementations and process improvement initiatives within the Shared Services and Finance teams.
Administer and reconcile lease accounting activities under ASC 842 using Visual Lease, ensuring accurate ROU asset, liability, and expense reporting.
Your Credentials :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on fixed assets capital accounting.
Experience in a large, multi-entity manufacturing or publicly treated company strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
Experience with major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor) required; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams across domestic and international operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with operations, engineering, and finance teams.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
Continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify and implement process efficiencies.
The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $96,000 with bonus potential.
