Job Summary US Eye, a leading ophthalmology and eye care platform based in Sarasota, FL, is seeking an experienced controller to oversee a high‑performing team. The ideal candidate will have broad experience creating and managing an appropriate control environment as well as analyzing operational activity and determining the appropriate accounting recognition of activity in accordance with US GAAP. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting processes.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain and enhance internal control systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust, efficiency and productivity.
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
Manage consolidation of multi‑entity financials, including ASCs, physician clinics, and MSOs.
Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting packages for the executive team, Board, and private equity sponsor.
Coordinate external audits and tax preparation with third‑party firms.
Partner with FP&A to ensure actuals align with forecasted performance and budget assumptions.
Manage a team of 10 professionals.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
7–12 years progressive accounting experience; preferably in multi‑site healthcare, physician practice management or ASC (ambulatory surgery center) environment.
Proven success leading accounting teams and managing financial systems transitions.
Strong technical GAAP knowledge, internal control acumen, and audit readiness.
Experience with NetSuite or similar financial management platform.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full‑time position located in Sarasota, FL with the potential to work from home 2 days per week following the training period.
Travel to other locations as needed.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of standing and moving between workspaces.
In‑office work required.
Ability to travel between locations as necessary.
