Summary The Senior Business Support Specialist serves as a key technical and operational resource responsible for the support, administration, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications and system integrations. This exempt-level role provides advanced troubleshooting, user support, and process automation across core business systems. The Senior Specialist will lead initiatives related to EDI management, supplier onboarding, data governance, and integration testing, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive system efficiency and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide expert-level support, training, and configuration for current and future enterprise and operational applications.

Serve as a primary liaison between business users, vendor support, and IT teams to ensure timely issue resolution and system optimization.

Master data uploads, validation, and integration data integrity across multiple platforms.

Administer user access, role assignments, and permissions within enterprise systems in compliance with IT security policies.

Deliver Priority ERP application support, overseeing incident management, root cause analysis, and resolution documentation.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI inbound / outbound transmission errors, including cXML and similar integration formats.

Utilize tools such as Postman or equivalent API testing utilities for ad-hoc data validation, monitoring, and cleansing.

Support supplier onboarding processes, ensuring accurate configuration, documentation, and system connectivity.

Lead configuration, testing, and deployment of system enhancements, including forms, custom objects, approval workflows, and automation scripts.

Partner with cross-functional teams and the PMO to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and system improvements.

Design and implement automation and scripting solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, Python, PowerShell, or equivalent technologies.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of system documentation, training materials, and process improvement initiatives.

Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the relevant applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related field required (or equivalent experience).

3–5 years of progressive experience in IT support, enterprise application administration, or business systems analysis.

Demonstrated experience with ERP, procurement, or enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Proven expertise in EDI, API integrations, and system configuration.

Skills and Competencies

Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex system and data issues.

Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, data exchange formats (cXML, JSON, CSV), and related technologies.

Experience with automation and scripting tools (Power Automate, Python, PowerShell, etc.).

Excellent communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and process documentation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in user training, knowledge transfer, and documentation development.

Computer and Technical Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Experience with system configuration, workflow automation, and Active Directory access management.

Working knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman).

Language Skills

Proficiency in English (verbal, reading, and written communication).

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications in ERP administration, business analysis, or enterprise application management.

Experience with ITIL frameworks or process automation in enterprise environments.

Physical Demands

Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation.

Occasionally lift and move IT equipment up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment

Standard office environment with occasional remote support requirements.

Minimal exposure to hazardous or adverse conditions.
