Regional Vice President Of Operations - Special Initiatives, Uspi

The Regional Vice President will support special initiatives and operating priorities set forth by USPI Chief Operating Officer. The individual holds primary responsibility for serving as interim RVP of Operations in high priority markets, which will include overseeing ambulatory surgery centers, including operational, financial, and partnership aspects across multiple facilities. They will drive growth in case volume and EBITDA, spearhead the recruitment and retention of surgeons, and actively manage physician equity within the partnership. The Regional Vice President will also support the implementation of best practices aligned with USPI's field operating priorities. The individual will also collaborate closely with the Development team to help execute expansion opportunities and support integration of new facilities to USPI. The individual is led by example to ensure a strong culture of safety, leadership, and low employee turnover.

This role entails the possibility of nationwide travel, depending on operational requirements. This individual will be deployed to dynamic markets across the country for impactful 36-month engagements aimed at stabilizing operations and facilitating smooth transitions toward permanent roles. Unlike traditional roles tied to a single region, these professionals are versatile leaders, often called upon to fill various positions across diverse markets. Furthermore, they will drive market-specific initiatives and support targeted operations projects determined by the USPI Chief Operating Officer.

This is an exempt status position that often requires work outside of normal business hours, including travel.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning for Each Facility

Responsible for ensuring that each Administrator and CEO develops an annual business plan and effectively implements it.

Oversees initial development of the plan and ensures quarterly updates at Board level and at each Partnership Meeting

Conducts monthly review of the plan by RVP during MOR calls.

Case Growth

Responsible for managing the recruitment process for new Physicians.

Review and oversee strategies focused on enhancing revenue from existing utilizers.

Engage with Health systems to identify suitable cases across all facilities in the region.

Innovate for market growth through new service line development.

Leadership Development with Administrators / CEOs

Conduct human resources training sessions tailored to specific job descriptions, encompassing skills development, policy understanding and ensuring alignments with organizational objectives.

Lead financial and recruiting training sessions, focusing on interpreting, and responding to MOR reports.

Facilitate training sessions on effective communication with physicians and health system partners.

Promote Industry awareness within the job role through ongoing education and engagement.

Identify emerging talent, provide comprehensive training, and establish succession plans are in place for Administrators and CEOs.

Partnership Management

Attend Governing Board Meetings to provide updates and insights on relevant matters.

Participate in Partnership Meetings to foster collaboration and maintain strong relationships.

Oversee Partnership Equity Management to maintain fair and balanced distribution of resources and responsibilities among partners.

Facilitate succession planning for the Physician role ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of operations.

Maintain regular communication with Health System Partners to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Required Skills :

Must have OR Operations experience

Must have a bachelors degree

Prefer Master's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration; equivalent experience considered

Minimum five years' experience with exposure to healthcare business development & operations, finance, and business consulting

Demonstrated experience in developing growth strategies and a proven track record in people management skills

Excellent verbal, written and formal presentation communication skills; ability to work well with \
