Role: Water Heating Technician

Role Description As a Heater Operator, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of Enviro-Flame brand tri‑fuel super heaters in remote field environments. These heaters utilize Natural Gas, Propane, or Diesel to deliver up to 25–30 MBTU of heat through self‑managed systems. The role requires managing water heating operations including tank and line heating, monitoring pump performance, and handling fluid transfer through hard‑lined hoses. Travel to the base of operations in North Dakota (ND) or Utah (UT) is contractor‑responsible.
Responsibilities
Arrive 10–15 minutes before each shift for cross‑shift communication and handoff
Complete daily safety documentation (JSA/FLHA) and conduct site and equipment assessments
Manage 6" suction and 4" discharge camlock‑fitted hard‑lined hoses
Monitor and control 20–40hp electric water pumps for continuous heating
Maintain consistent water temperature and pressure through heater operations
Communicate with water transfer and operations teams via group chat
Maintain clean and orderly heater operations rooms at the end of each shift
Report and track fuel consumption and heater performance
Assist in rig‑in and rig‑out processes as required
Ensure smooth operation during both tank‑level management and in‑line heating setups
Skills And Qualifications
Experience operating high‑BTU heating systems or similar heavy equipment
Familiarity with water transfer systems, hose handling, and pump operations
Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including days or nights, with variable start times
Strong communication skills for shift turnover and real‑time coordination
Comfortable working in confined spaces (heater operations room)
Physically able to handle rig‑up/rig‑out duties and hose connections
Reliable transportation to base locations in ND or UT
Safety‑conscious and capable of completing required site documentation
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred
Role Details Location: North Dakota, housing provided
Pay: $30-$42/hr (1099)
Schedule: 12 hour shifts (days & nights available)
Truck provided to get from housing to site
