Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain the company’s quality control program to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and applicable Navy Technical Publications (-248, -271, -278, -1688).

Create, issue and revise quality procedures and specifications in alignment with regulatory, customer and engineering requirements.

Collaborate with management, customers and cross‑functional teams to plan, schedule and direct quality control activities that meet customer expectations and production schedules.

Serve as the primary liaison with customers on product quality and reliability issues, coordinating with the contracts department.

Review contracts to define quality provisions and ensure all contractual flow‑down requirements are communicated to internal teams and suppliers.

Analyze, interpret and report quality data to management, production, engineering and other key stakeholders.

Investigate customer‑returned defective products, identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Lead and manage material review and disposition programs while driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Conduct audits and ongoing reviews of the quality control program to ensure effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.

Monitor operations for adherence to core quality measures, regulatory requirements and legal obligations.

Hire, train, mentor and evaluate quality control personnel to ensure high performance and professional development.

Delegate tasks to other department personnel when appropriate.

Foster a culture of quality and safety, ensuring all workplace health and safety requirements are met.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

7–10 years of experience in manufacturing and quality inspection, including at least 5 years in the defense industry.

Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict standards and requirements.

Working knowledge of Navy Technical Publications (-248, -271, -278, -1688), ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standards.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, government regulations and create reports, correspondence and manuals.

Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, trigonometry and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Proven problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities; skilled in interpreting complex technical instructions and data.

Ability to walk, stand and/or kneel throughout the day; able to lift up to 30 lbs.
