Senior/Principal Associate Scientist, Platform Research

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior/Principal Associate Scientist to join our Platform Research team and contribute to the development of next-generation RNAi therapeutics. The ideal candidate is passionate about early discovery science, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is eager to learn and adapt as new directions emerge.
Key Responsibilities:
Tissue Processing and Analysis:
Perform tissue processing and downstream analyses, including tissue homogenization, lysate preparation, and evaluation of siRNA distribution and efficacy across animal tissues.
In vitro and cell culture assays:
Culture and expand immortalized and primary cell lines; perform transfections and in vitro assays to evaluate changes in target gene expression, with demonstrated proficiency in RT-qPCR techniques.
Molecular biology and analytical assays:
Execute molecular and biochemical techniques, including RT-qPCR, SL-qPCR, ELISA, and MSD assays, to support platform development and research initiatives.
Assay development:
Design, optimize, and implement new assays as needed to advance platform and project objectives.
Data management and documentation:
Maintain accurate, organized experimental records and reagent inventories in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
BS/MS in Biology or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a biotechnology environment.
Experience with molecular biology techniques including RT-qPCR.
Experience with in vivo sample processing, in vitro cell culture and assay execution.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on hands‑on laboratory work.
Experienced in using electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) for data documentation and management.
Fast learner with a genuine passion for early‑stage discovery research.
Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to manage urgent tasks and shifting priorities effectively.
Experience working in cross‑functional teams and collaborating effectively with colleagues across diverse areas of expertise.
Please note this role is required to be on‑site at our offices in Cambridge, MA (5 days a week).
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with siRNA or RNA‑based therapeutics.
Experience with biophysical binding assays.
Compensation: The base salary range provided reflects our current estimate of what we anticipate paying for this position. Your actual base salary will be based on several factors, including relevant skills, experience, internal equity, relevant education or training and market dynamics. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual cash bonus and equity compensation. City Therapeutics offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, health and dependent care FSA accounts, HSA/HRA accounts with company contributions, in addition to a 401(k) with competitive company match. Per Year Salary Range: $94,000-$122,000
