Position Summary The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank physician to perform gastroenterology services at the Morsani Center and Tampa General Hospital. The appointment is full‑time, 12‑month, salaried faculty and carries attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and affiliated hospitals.
Responsibilities
CLINICAL:
Provides general GI ambulatory clinics, inpatient call & coverage, and endoscopy time; participates in clinical teaching for medical students, residents and fellows in clinic, endoscopy center and hospital ward settings.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Reviews charts, makes phone calls with patients, finishes notes, answers MyChart messages, etc.
Responsible to a Chair or other higher‑level administrator of a state university; responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities; responsible for academic advising and related activities; may represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate or Full Professor – normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in peer‑reviewed journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
Candidate must be board‑certified/eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Gastroenterology.
Preferred: Candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
