Job Title: Treatment Specialist — Location: Washington Oral & Facial Surgery (Washington, District of Columbia, United States) — Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.00

Position Purpose The Treatment Coordinator plays a vital role in managing patient care treatment plans and ensuring that patients understand and proceed with their recommended treatment. This position involves patient interaction, detailed communication, and administrative support to facilitate smooth and effective patient care from diagnosis through treatment completion.

Essential Functions

Meet with patients to discuss their treatment plans as outlined by the surgeon.

Explain treatment procedures, potential outcomes, and financial obligations.

Answer patient questions and address concerns about their treatment options and plans.

Provide educational materials and resources to help patients understand their treatment.

Follow‑up calls to patients that did not schedule and work to remove roadblocks to get treatment completed.

Coordinate the scheduling of treatments, surgeries, and follow‑up appointments.

Ensure that all necessary pre‑treatment steps, such as lab work or imaging, are completed.

Monitor patient progress and follow up to ensure adherence to treatment plans.

Adjust treatment schedules as needed in response to patient needs or surgeon recommendations.

Discuss treatment costs with patients and provide detailed estimates.

Review insurance coverage and assist patients with understanding their benefits.

Coordinate with the billing department to manage insurance claims and payments.

Develop and discuss payment plans for patients who require financial assistance.

Administrative Duties

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Prepare and manage treatment‑related documentation.

Communicate effectively with clinical and front office team members to ensure seamless patient care.

Handle patient communication, including appointment reminders and follow‑up calls.

Maintain accurate patient records, help the front desk with answering phones, accepting payments, and checking patients in/out when needed.

Other duties as assigned by the practice administrator.

Compliance and Confidentiality

Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and privacy laws, including HIPAA.

Maintain patient confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information.

Follow clinic policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare standards.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalency, required.

Experience:

Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in treatment coordination or patient care roles, is highly desirable.

Experience:

Full understanding of surgical guide treatment from patient consultation to execution.

Experience:

Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in healthcare.
