GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Agriculture Manager or Fresh Operations Manager, the General Supervisor supervises operating departments including land preparation, planting, irrigation, spray, harvesting, packing, shipping, and agricultural engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises all land preparation activities including clearing, subsoiling, disking, and piping of fields; ensures accurate block layouts and adherence to soil conservation, drainage, and field road specifications.
Supervises pre‑plant soil fumigant applications, mulch laying, and granular fertilizer application.
Supervises installation of ground and surface irrigation pipes, drip irrigation treatments, fertilizer, chlorine, and pesticide injections; oversees overhead sprinkler irrigation.
Supervises boom spray application of insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, plant growth regulators, fertilizers, and crop enhancers; coordinates weed control activities including spot spraying and hand‑weeding.
Supervises all field activities related to planting, harvesting, loading, dipping, unloading, and planting of crop material.
Supervises all fruit handling operations including fresh fruit harvesting, packing, transportation, and processing/shipping operations.
Generates and administers long‑ and short‑term operating schedules and estimates.
Assists with development and administration of the operating budget; participates in cost‑control programs to ensure budget goals are achieved.
Provides input for research program development and ensures practices follow the Agricultural Practices Manual.
Ensures compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Maintains a safe and healthful work environment; develops and implements safety programs and conducts regular safety meetings.
Performs special research and development projects as assigned.

Execute leaf and soil analysis schedule.
Implement field surveys following Integrated Pest Management.

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, shift work as required.
Minimum of bachelor's degree in an agricultural discipline.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION Bachelor's degree in agricultural discipline.
