Your Role:
As a Physician Assistant with a primary care focus, you’ll assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients while collaborating closely with a team to ensure comprehensive care and best outcomes.
Essential Functions:
Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem‑focused physical examinations and medical histories.
Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
Prescribes or recommends medical drug therapies, performs procedures, and follows protocols with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost.
Recommends interventions to modify health‑risk behaviors.
Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes‑based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
Evaluates patient response and effectiveness of care.
Counsels patients and families about medical, medication, nutrition, and health promotion topics.
Maintains appropriate records and initiates timely referrals when needed.
Provides consultation level services for conditions related to the specialty.
Performs invasive procedures specific to scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician.
May care for a panel of patients in a team‑based model focusing on acute and chronic illness management and population health.
Key Success Factors:
Knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
Ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans and counsel patients on behavior modification.
Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Computer literacy and use of related software.
Current Texas PA license and NCCPA certification.
Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
