Job Description This role is field‑based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. The successful candidate will execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and ensure compliance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
Create an effective pre‑call plan and execute post‑call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Handle objections and concerns consistently to close every sales call.
Proactively meet customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
Develop and execute a call plan that optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers and maximizes access and sales opportunities.
Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, and disease dynamics. Share this intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers, identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass a pre‑employment drug screening test.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, business‑related field, or equivalent industry experience (minimum five years in pharma/health).
In‑depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools.
Proactive in adapting selling approach to customer style and behavior.
Demonstrates leadership and collaborative partnership within a matrix environment.
Preferred: Proven track record of sales performance in a therapeutic area.
English language proficiency (oral and written).
Must meet all applicable health‑care industry representative credentialing requirements.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a safe driving test.
