What you will do The

Director of Optical Network Service Operations

will provide strategic and operational leadership for EOS’s Optical Network service delivery across a multi‑year Edge Network upgrade program. This role will oversee all aspects of optical field operations—including splicing, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle service management—ensuring consistent, high‑quality delivery across multiple global metro regions. Acting as the executive interface between EOS and hyperscale client stakeholders, the Director will drive operational excellence, align resources to a complex deployment roadmap, and establish a scalable service model that balances cost efficiency with SLA performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead EOS’s Optical Network Service Operations for a Edge Network upgrade program across US metros.

Define service strategy, operational KPIs, and workforce plans to support rolling deployments.

Oversee program governance, financial performance, and resource scalability.

Partner with client program directors and engineering leads to align on roadmaps, scope, and design packages.

Direct large‑scale teams including Service Project Managers, Field Splicing Engineers, and Optical Technicians.

Ensure consistent application of SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards across all sites.

Oversee execution of optical builds: fiber splicing, OTDR testing, MPO/MTP trunking, optic integration, and QA validation.

Establish a Global Service Excellence framework, incorporating Lean Six Sigma, CSI, and 5S practices to drive efficiency.

Act as executive sponsor and escalation point for hyperscale clients.

Maintain transparent reporting on progress, SLA/KPI adherence, risks, and financial performance.

Build trust through proactive communication, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborative governance forums.

Develop global workforce strategy for Supervisors, Project Managers, and Technicians, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning.

Coordinate allocation of splicing teams, logistics, and tooling to ensure timely execution.

Manage vendor/partner relationships where subcontracting is required, ensuring compliance with EOS and client standards.

Use post‑deployment data to identify optimization opportunities in cost, productivity, and quality.

Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and client compliance standards.

Promote innovation in tooling, automation, and BI‑driven performance analytics.

Essential Criteria

8+ years’ experience in service delivery or operations leadership in large‑scale fiber optic, telecom, or data center programs.

Proven track record managing multi‑region optical deployments and field operations teams.

Strong technical understanding of fusion splicing, OTDR testing, power meter & light source testing, MPO/MTP trunk cable installation, structured cabling, and fiber troubleshooting & QA validation.

Experience implementing operational frameworks: Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, or equivalent.

Executive‑level stakeholder management experience in hyperscale or telecom environments.

PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project/program management certification desirable.

Ability to travel globally to oversee program execution.

Pay Range: $150,000—$185,000 USD.
