The Distribution Center General Manager will oversee all operational and administrative aspects of the DC, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
Position Description The Distribution Center General Manager is accountable for leading teams to execute supply chain strategies, achieve continuous improvement, and meet monthly and annual budget targets. This role requires coaching, talent development, and fostering a culture of excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a safe work environment, minimizing OSHA recordable incidents.
Serve as the on-site expert for inventory control, ensuring physical inventory accuracy through SOPs and audits; manage returned goods and customer credits.
Lead drivers and warehouse staff to achieve on-time and complete deliveries, maintaining high service levels.
Review and optimize DC cost productivity, focusing on labor management and delivery costs per unit.
Develop and lead talent within the DC, implementing recruitment, training, succession planning, and performance management.
Conduct regular staff meetings to address operational issues, communicate updates, and inspire continuous improvement.
Demonstrate leadership that engages and empowers supply‑chain talent to own performance and contribute to a values‑based culture.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, ADA, and other regulatory agencies.
Develop and distribute regular performance reports of the DC to stakeholders; use data to monitor metrics and drive improvements.
