Software Test Engineer – Cardiac Mapping Systems

Schedule:
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation:
Up to $52.00/hour
About the Role Join a high‑performing product quality team supporting a cutting‑edge 3D mapping and navigation system used in cardiac electrophysiology (EP) procedures. This system provides real‑time visualization of intracardiac catheters and generates detailed anatomical models to assist physicians in identifying arrhythmia origins during minimally invasive procedures. The Software Test Engineer will work closely with developers in an Agile environment to validate software components across the user interface, algorithmic processing, and back‑end data handling. The role includes manual and automated testing, test case development, and interaction with lab equipment. Candidates should be comfortable coding in Python and working in a Linux environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute test cases to validate system functionality and ensure business/user requirements are met
Perform manual testing and execute automated test scripts
Create and maintain automated test scripts; debug issues within verification points and automation frameworks
Run automation tests for JIRA items and coordinate across multiple scrum teams
Develop internal websites to support test automation workflows
Ensure all testing follows documented procedures and standards
Document test results and prepare formal test reports
Identify, diagnose, and report bugs and enhancement opportunities using a bug tracking system
Share product knowledge and provide informal training to team members
Contribute to test strategy, methodology, and data setup
Participate in daily scrums, product reviews, and bug triage meetings
Collaborate with software development, hardware engineering, field support, and other cross‑functional teams
Quality Systems Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with all applicable quality system requirements and standards
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience
Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (must be clearly stated on resume)
Proficiency in Python programming
Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Squish)
Familiarity with source code management tools (e.g., Git, BitBucket)
Experience in Agile Scrum development environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with C++
Background in medical device testing and product quality
Working knowledge of Linux/Unix‑based test automation
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Ability to learn complex systems and adapt to new technologies
Familiarity with ISO and FDA compliance standards for medical devices
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
