Responsible for developing proprietary software supporting middle‑ and back‑office operations, including reconciliation, accounting and settlements systems.

The Role The Investment Systems: Operations Technology team develops Parametric’s proprietary software supporting middle‑ and back‑office operations. The Lead Software Engineer will lead the design, development and integration of technology solutions for these systems, becoming a subject‑matter expert in operational systems and researching, designing and implementing new technologies and solutions to solve key challenges.

The Lead Software Engineer reports directly to the Operations Technology team, working closely with business analysts, partners and technical leaders. This management role involves leading projects and mentoring developers.
A critical objective is to support the architecture and delivery of scalable enterprise solutions leveraging AWS cloud‑native technologies, designing and implementing microservices and evolving existing services following industry best practices with a relentless focus on performance and resilience.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering growth and driving culture and objectives.
Lead development projects across the entire lifecycle—from requirements gathering to deployment, bug fixes and enhancements.
Design and develop high‑quality, flexible technical solutions across all layers of application development, including APIs, application logic, performance, reliability, persistence, tests, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Develop domain expertise within Parametric’s middle‑ and back‑office operations systems.
Research and deepen expertise in relevant technologies, building best‑practice knowledge and low‑level detail understanding.
Collaborate across teams to build strong relationships, determine technical needs and design solutions that fit the existing proprietary codebase.
Promote high standards for maintainability, consistency, performance and correctness.
Job Qualifications
Primary Skills:
3+ years of recent hands‑on Java and J2EE development experience; Spring Boot primarily.
8 years of overall hands‑on OOP design and development experience.
Experience supervising software development teams and fostering an engaging, collaborative environment, including building and maintaining cross‑team networks.
Proven experience with cloud technologies (AWS strongly preferred).
Proven experience managing all aspects of team‑delivered technical projects, with a track record of delivering well‑architected, well‑written solutions.
Strong understanding of features and best practices across various programming languages.
Strong passion for developing a deep understanding of new technologies or solutions.
Experience with persistence technologies such as RDBMS or NoSQL.
Experience developing resources using IaC technologies such as Terraform.
Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab or GitHub.
Experience enforcing high‑quality code standards.
Track record of becoming a subject‑matter expert in areas related to assignments, including in‑depth expertise on business concepts or open‑source project internals like Spring and Hibernate.
Financial services industry experience.
Experience developing highly scalable cloud solutions.
Experience improving code quality standards through conventions and automated tooling such as IDEs and SAST services.
Experience presenting technical contributions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits Salary range: $115,000 – $225,000 / yr. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award and participation in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan.
