Air and Radiation Administration Air Quality Compliance Program- Field Service Division. 1800 Washington Blvd. Baltimore MD 21230 Main Purpose of Job
The incumbent in this position will serve as the Environmental Program Manager I (Division Chief) responsible for planning, directing, developing, and implementing the activities of the Field Services Division within ARMA’s Air Quality Compliance Program. The Environmental Program Manager I will provide managerial oversight for a statewide program ensuring compliance with air quality regulations at sources of air pollution. The incumbent will manage the program through subordinate supervisors and ensure consistent enforcement and implementation of air quality standards across the state. The working conditions of this position involve exposure to uncomfortable or unpleasant surroundings. The incumbent may be exposed to unpleasant odors, may need to walk through muddy/messy conditions, and/or exposed to industrial conditions when conducting occasional field work. This position also requires the use of protective equipment such as goggles, gloves, masks, etc. during site visits. Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in engineering or the biological, environmental or physical sciences. Experience: Three years of experience supervising a professional staff or as a project supervisor in the Air and Radiation Management field of work. Notes
Candidates may substitute additional experience in engineering, public administration or law as related to environmental health on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Applicants may substitute registration as an Environmental Sanitarian or as a Professional Engineer for the required education. Applicants may substitute one additional year of experience in engineering, public administration or law related to environmental health for the 30 credit hours of required education. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources classifications or Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources specialty codes in the Engineering, Natural Resources and Science field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience. Three years of experience in an air quality field Knowledge of air quality compliance and inspection protocols. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Candidates appointed to positions in these classifications may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. SELECTION PROCESS
