About the Role We are seeking a

Senior Enterprise Data Architect

to lead the design and execution of our enterprise-wide data strategy. This role will shape how data is structured, governed, and integrated across the organization—ensuring our data is secure, consistent, and scalable. The architect will collaborate closely with IT and business teams to build data frameworks, evaluate emerging technologies, and enable truly data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Pay:

$75-$85 an hour

What You’ll Do

Set the vision:

Define the company’s overall data architecture blueprint — including tools, models, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).

Design the structure:

Build conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure consistency and scalability across systems.

Establish governance:

Create and enforce standards for data quality, security, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

Integrate data:

Design how data flows between systems and departments to reduce silos and improve accessibility.

Collaborate across teams:

Act as the bridge between business units, data engineers, and IT leadership to align solutions with business needs.

Manage tools:

Oversee or guide the use of enterprise data tools such as Collibra, Alation, and Informatica.

Stay ahead of trends:

Evaluate new technologies—AI-driven analytics, real-time data streaming, and cloud- platforms—through proof-of-concept projects.

What We’re Looking For

Experience:

6–12 years in IT, with at least 3 years focused on data architecture or enterprise data management.

Mindset:

A blend of technical depth and strategic thinking—someone who builds frameworks others can scale from.

Past titles may include:

Enterprise Data Architect

Data Strategy or Governance Lead

Principal / Chief Data Architect

Enterprise Architect (Data Focus)

Industry plus:

Experience in utilities, oil & gas, or other regulated industries is highly .

Certifications:

TOGAF required (demonstrates enterprise architecture expertise).

Tools & Technologies

Cloud:

Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Modeling:

ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar tools

Governance / Catalog:

Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or comparable platforms

Data Concepts:

Data mesh, data lakehouse, data lineage, metadata management

Nice to know:

SQL, ETL, and general data engineering fundamentals

What We’re Not Looking For

Candidates focused primarily on hands‑on coding or ETL pipeline development

BI/reporting analysts without data architecture or governance experience

Professionals without exposure to enterprise‑scale environments or TOGAF
