Title Senior Manager, Software Global Trade Compliance
Location Atlanta, GA (onsite) or Virtual, USA
Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility The Senior Manager, Software Global Trade Compliance is responsible for accurately classifying NCR Voyix products and technologies—primarily software, as well as hardware—for import and export purposes. This role ensures compliance with trade regulations by assigning appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and other relevant classifications. This person will collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary product information, minimize trade compliance risks, and maintain accurate classification records.
Key Responsibilities
Review product specifications and technical data to determine correct classification codes for import and export in accordance with trade regulations such as the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Partner with engineering, procurement, sales, and manufacturing teams to collect essential product details, including materials, functionality, and intended use, ensuring accurate classification.
Analyze import / export documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, to confirm compliance with classification requirements.
Develop and maintain clear, well-documented rationales for classification decisions, providing justification and references to applicable regulations.
Maintain accurate classification data within internal systems and databases, including reviewing and migrating legacy classification data as needed.
Identify potential trade compliance risks related to product classifications and recommend mitigation strategies.
Assist in responding to government inquiries regarding product classifications, including providing necessary supporting documentation.
Provide training and guidance to internal teams on trade compliance regulations and best practices for proper classification.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of direct experience with customs and trade compliance along with an understanding of complex trade topics including valuation, duty mitigation, classification
10+ years of experience commensurate with extensive knowledge of handling product compliance, imports and / or exports for non-US jurisdictions
Ability to interpret technical product specifications and apply relevant classification criteria.
Strong knowledge of export control laws, customs regulations, and HTS codes.
Ability to assess product attributes and determine accurate classifications.
High level of accuracy in data entry and classification decisions.
Strong ability to explain complex classification topics and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Capability to identify and resolve classification discrepancies and potential compliance issues.
