Vice President, Shared Platform Services Step into a transformative leadership role as the Vice President of Shared Platform Services at Clarivate. In this position, you will architect, operate, secure, and continuously evolve our shared technology platforms, including infrastructure and services that form the technological backbone for a global information services company. These platforms encompass physical datacenter and public cloud infrastructure, internal developer platforms and tools, APIs, identity and entitlement services, monitoring, and service reliability capabilities.

You will be responsible for ensuring that these platforms are secure, scalable, highly available, compliant with regulatory requirements, cost‑efficient, and responsive to dynamic business needs. Your leadership will foster innovation, efficiency, and consistency across the enterprise and work closely with product engineering, operations, finance, security, and business stakeholders to drive growth and unlock new potential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related field.

At least 12 years of experience in software engineering, platform, infrastructure, or operations roles.

At least 10 years in senior leadership positions (e.g., Director, Senior Director, or Vice President) overseeing platform, infrastructure, or shared services teams.

Demonstrated success in building and operating large‑scale platforms and shared services within complex, global environments, including experience with microservices, cloud and hybrid architecture, automation, and physical infrastructure.

Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containerization, orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), observability, reliability engineering, and DevOps practices.

Hands‑on experience managing a 24/7 rapid response center (e.g., a Network Operations Center, Incident Management, or Monitoring Center).

Working knowledge of major compliance and security frameworks (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, ISO standards).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or MBA.

Experience with multi‑cloud and hybrid‑cloud architectures.

Prior experience in internal developer platforms or infrastructure‑as‑code environments.

Proven experience in physical data center consolidation.

Expertise in scaling internal platforms while preserving developer experience.

Additional familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, ISO).

Proven ability to work with engineering and operations teams across multiple regions, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and India.

Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in a global organization, including rapid integration of personnel and systems.

Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and managing vendor relationships.

High value placed on familiarity with service‑oriented architecture, API gateways, event‑driven systems, data platforms, identity and authentication systems, infrastructure as code, and internal developer platforms.

Responsibilities

Set the vision, strategy, and governance for shared platforms across the enterprise.

Lead architectural decisions to ensure platforms are modular, consistent, and aligned with business goals.

Oversee the development and operation of core platform services (DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, data, identity, APIs).

Ensure platforms are reliable, secure, scalable, and cost‑effective.

Track platform health using SLAs, metrics, and dashboards.

Drive ongoing improvements through automation and reliability engineering.

Collaborate with teams to prioritize investments and remove friction.

Manage vendor relationships and platform integrations.

Lead and develop platform engineering and operations teams.

Promote standardization and cross‑functional alignment.

Balance immediate needs with long‑term platform sustainability.

Oversee risk management, compliance, audits, and disaster recovery.

Manage budgets, staffing, and roadmap priorities.

Work Hours & Location

Full‑time position, primarily working core business hours in your local time zone with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.

Hybrid role: work in the office two days per week in our Kansas City or Philadelphia locations.

Some global travel will be required.
