Marketing And Communications Specialist

The Department of Housing & Residential Education is dedicated to creating safe and welcoming residential communities that promote student success. The department enhances the residents' ability to graduate in a timely manner by offering programs, services, facilities and learning communities that support the academic needs and goals of the residents. Through our focus on education, facilities, and responsible stewardship, Housing & Residential Education is aligned with and supports the USF Strategic Plan. Position assists in the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication initiatives for Housing & Residential Education. It will involve collaboration with both internal and external units to promote residential experience campaigns, which are essential to the broader USF Strategic Plan Goals 1C, 4A, 5C, & 5D. Additionally, the role will oversee the creation of reports, presentations, and content to ensure a consistent messaging strategy. Communications: Develop and distribute timely information about recruitment, crisis, and routine information to prospective and active residents and family members. Assist with developing content for the Housing Portal that maintains consistent information, tone, and overall experience for residents. Public Relations: Leads all aspects of the HRE tour experience (routes, registration, personnel, training, & coordination with Admission); develop & present (or execute) HRE content to mass audiences for Admission, Orientation, and other signature events or programs; and produce events that build excitement and engagement around the on campus living experience. Website Content Developer: Plan, design, and execute on website content additions, changes, or deletions of nearly 400 HRE web pages; collaborate with HRE partners as needed to maintain accurate and current content; provide crisis management content as needed; and conduct and report out on non-compliance related items associated with the websites. Supervision: Provide strategic direction to the HRE Marketing & Communication's Specialist and student team members to execute on key initiatives and cyclical processes; develop a robust on-boarding plan that provides cultural, technical, and resource awareness; provide annual and continuous feedback to help the Specialist excel and exhibit University standards. Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business, communications, marketing, education, etc. and 4 years of professional experience. Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree. Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S. A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree; (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree; (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree. Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment. Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
