The Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Biltmore is seeking a talented Chief Engineer to lead our Engineering team and oversee the functionality, safety, and overall integrity of our hotel.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems, and grounds.
Conduct facility inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Assign, verify, and document completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
Direct, oversee, and maintain required documentation for energy management and conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
Lead, manage, and communicate information about capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor compliance.
Obtain required licenses and permits to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Direct daily department operations, including guest service standards, product quality, inventory management, cost controls, and budgeting.
Monitor and develop team member performance, providing supervision, professional development, and recognition.
Leader and self‑starter with the ability to recruit, interview, and train, mentor and motivate team members.
Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with boilers, chillers, and two‑pipe heating systems.
Ability to execute a maintenance plan across guest rooms, ensuring that the team has access to appropriate equipment and supplies.
Requirements
Proven experience in property operations or engineering management within the hospitality industry – a must.
Open availability.
Strong knowledge of facility management, safety regulations, and maintenance practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to manage budgets and financial forecasts effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
