Repair Station Quality Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing
This role oversees the Repair Station Quality Management Systems and Internal Audits. This is NOT an IT position. Base pay range
$127,000.00/yr - $138,000.00/yr What you will be doing
Develop, control, and support creation of Quality Management System (QMS) documents Support and conduct Internal Product, Process, and Quality System audits Support 2nd- and 3rd-party audits Experience in risk mitigation, identifying, and resolving manufacturing issues (NCR) Work closely with production to resolve manufacturing challenges. Assess and disposition non-conforming parts, and assemblies, to support on-time shipments of quality products to customers Complete First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Build data packages as objective evidence of product conformity Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigation and monitor the process performance Participate in Contract Review process to ensure organization’s ability to meet or exceed customer requirements Actively participate in defining inspection requirements, acceptance limits, and inspection plans to ensure compliance with customer requirements Participate in Purchase Order review process to ensure appropriate requirement flow down to sub-tier suppliers Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities and lead CI projects to make improvements to processes and quality system compliance Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline Oversee the Repair Station Quality Management System and all Internal Audits What you need to qualify
5+ years\' quality engineering experience in the Aerospace Industry Direct experience in lean manufacturing Bachelor\'s degree in an engineering discipline Expert experience in Risk Based Thinking environments. AS9145 (APQP) experience preferred Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action analysis for complex issues Proficient problem-solving skills utilizing quality tools and concepts (Cause Map, Fishbone, 5-Why, etc.) Experience with Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, Kano Graphs Experience working with Quality Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA FAR Regulations) Computer literacy, proficiency with MS Office: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Effective written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership Certified Lead Auditor AS9100D is a plus Read and write in English; fluency in Spanish is a plus Lean and/or ASQ certifications are pluses Must be detail oriented, dependable, and able to do routine work Experience working in a FAA Repair Station environment is a plus What’s in it for you
