Role description Arcadis is looking for an
Senior Electrical Engineer
to join our Resilience Water Team in either of our offices in North Carolina or Florida. Using your technical capabilities and collaborating with our experienced team, you will provide technical and design consulting services focused on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection, and monitoring and control system designs to support projects for the Water and Environmental Business Lines. You will manage tasks and oversee the work of junior staff, while reporting to a Senior Engineer and mentored by a Principal Engineer. The ideal candidate is performance‑driven, possesses a strong educational background, and can work productively both independently and as a contributing member of a collaborative team.
Role accountabilities As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities. Some travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, equipment audits, and construction oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing project/task scopes, schedules, and budgets for new projects.
Providing electrical design and coordination with an emphasis on power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire alarm systems, and monitoring and control systems.
Establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one‑line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
Reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs.
Conducting field inspections, QA/QC, and monitoring safety compliance during construction.
Performing system analysis using tools such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software.
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
7 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
PE License.
Key Skills And Attributes
Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) or Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, arc flash analysis, and photometric studies.
Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements.
Willingness to mentor junior/staff electrical engineers.
Ability to work effectively with multi‑disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget.
Capacity to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
10 years of experience.
Prior consulting experience with water/wastewater and industrial facilities.
