The Performing Arts Department, College of Liberal Arts, University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full‑time tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Acting and Directing to begin on September 1, 2026.
Responsibilities Teach Theatre Arts majors in the undergraduate performance curriculum.
Direct one departmental theatre production annually, with the production counting as one class toward a 2/2 teaching load.
Maintain a professional practice in acting and/or directing, including expertise in fight choreography, musical theatre, movement, or voice for the actor.
Qualifications Terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in hand by August 31, 2026.
Experience teaching undergraduates.
Professional acting and/or directing experience.
Demonstrated creative and/or scholarly activity and a suitable portfolio for tenure review.
