Responsibilities
Collaborate with the team to prepare winning proposals for projects involving standard site investigation, site characterization, and remediation opportunities.
Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects ranging from due diligence subsurface investigations to complex cleanups, monitor activities, and allocate resources to ensure client objectives are met.
Coach and mentor SI/REM staff on quality data generation and reporting, driving consistent excellence.
Lead daily operations of our growing team, focusing on safety, staff training and development, the quality of our services and work products, and enhancing the client experience.
Work with office and regional leadership on market engagement, client development, service expansion, marketing activities, and recruitment, mentoring, and development of environmental professionals to support growth.
Design and implement site characterization and remediation approaches.
Projects may include soil removal actions, soil vapor assessments, as well as groundwater remediation systems.
Support multi-disciplinary teams in scoping and preparing Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), developing Conceptual Site Models, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), Remedial Action Plans (RAPs), Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) applications, and monitoring remedial system performance.
Partner with other departments and offices to secure specialized resources for projects.
Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status.
Coordinate financial management of business intelligence, invoicing, and collections with accounting.
Develop an understanding of project-related risks and associated risk mitigation, and follow company risk management policies.
Lead development of proposals and scopes of work for complex site investigations to assess soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling for sites impacted by organic and inorganic contaminants.
Design, document, and supervise remediation system installation and operation & maintenance of remediation systems.
Assists in continuous quality monitoring and improvement for projects and Terracon policies and procedures used for conducting site investigations, remedial design and implementation fieldwork, and preparation of associated deliverables.
Drive safety efforts, ensuring team follows safety rules and guidelines, and promote pre‑task planning for all projects.
Participate in marketing strategy development and presenting qualifications to clients on a project and/or client basis.
Requirements
Understanding of Oregon State UST and Environmental Cleanup Programs, as well as an understanding of Washington State Model Toxics Control Act cleanup regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology or related field.
Minimum of 9 years of demonstrated experience in environmental field investigations, remedial design, and implementation with an environmental, engineering, or remedial construction focus.
Professional Geologist (PG) designation, preferably Oregon Registered Geologist (RG).
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
High level of verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated high level of technical writing ability. Must provide authored technical documents upon request.
Strong organizational skills.
Completed OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
