Position Summary Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for driving portfolio-wide top‑line performance. This role partners closely with Corporate Operations, Revenue Management, Ownership, and Brand teams to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that strengthen market share, elevate brand positioning, and achieve commercial goals across all properties.
The position offers a hybrid work schedule and will require periodic travel to properties and corporate meetings. Candidates residing in the Memphis or Nashville, TN area are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams across the portfolio to collaborate toward a shared vision of growth and profitability.
Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to optimize total revenue and achieve budgeted goals.
Partner with Revenue Management to drive pricing, forecasting, and channel optimization across multiple brands and market types.
Oversee digital and traditional marketing initiatives, including SEO/SEM, website optimization, paid media, content development, and social media strategy.
Direct the creation and execution of marketing campaigns that strengthen property positioning, enhance digital visibility, and generate measurable returns.
Review and approve annual sales and marketing plans and budgets for each hotel; analyze performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and accountability to Directors of Sales and property‑level teams.
Conduct quarterly property visits to evaluate strategy execution, sales productivity, and local market positioning.
Build and maintain strong relationships with ownership groups and brand representatives, providing insights and recommendations to improve performance.
Oversee agency partnerships supporting digital, creative, and PR initiatives.
Lead recruitment and selection of property‑level and regional sales leaders; develop high‑performing talent pipelines.
Design and manage incentive programs that reward performance and align with company objectives.
Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, forecasting, and annual business planning.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a multi‑property or corporate‑level role.
Proven success with both branded and lifestyle/boutique hotels.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality Management required; MBA preferred.
Strong strategic, analytical, and financial acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable plans.
Deep understanding of revenue management, pricing strategy, and digital marketing principles.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams across multiple properties.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional presence.
Highly organized and adaptable in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and hotel CRM or brand systems.
Ability to travel regularly within the portfolio.
