Overview As McKesson transitions its Medical‑Surgical business unit into a new independent entity, we are seeking a Senior Manager of Change Management to lead and coordinate enterprise‑level readiness, communication, and stakeholder alignment efforts across separation initiatives. This role provides both strategic direction and operational leadership to a team of Change Management professionals supporting high‑impact transformation across people, processes, and systems.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in organizational change management with hands‑on program delivery experience. This role requires the ability to coach and guide others while influencing senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment, adoption, and sustained engagement throughout the transition journey.
Focus Areas
Enterprise Readiness – Oversee readiness planning and execution across functional workstreams to ensure consistent adoption of new systems, processes, and organizational structures.
Strategic Communication – Drive communication and stakeholder engagement strategies that align messaging across business units, functions, and transformation initiatives.
Governance & Integration – Lead change governance forums, ensuring visibility into readiness metrics, risk escalation, and interdependency management.
Coaching & Enablement – Mentor a team of Change Management professionals (P3–P4), providing guidance on stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, and communication planning.
Continuous Improvement – Apply lessons learned and feedback loops from prior separation efforts to strengthen organizational resilience and cultural alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead enterprise change management planning and execution in partnership with program and functional leadership.
Oversee development and delivery of change impact assessments, readiness dashboards, and sentiment tracking models.
Coordinate and align cross‑functional messaging with HR, Communications, and Transformation Office partners to ensure one unified voice.
Facilitate sponsor engagement and stakeholder communication forums to reinforce leadership alignment and decision‑making.
Partner with Project Managers and workstream leads to embed change considerations into project plans and deliverables.
Guide the creation of communication materials, cascade kits, and enablement tools to support employee understanding and adoption.
Monitor change progress, identify barriers, and develop targeted interventions to drive adoption.
Maintain governance documentation, trackers, and Smartsheet dashboards for transparency and accountability.
Champion a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement across the enterprise.
Qualifications
7–10 years of experience in change management, program management, or transformation leadership roles.
Proven experience leading organizational readiness efforts in large‑scale separation, M&A, or transformation programs.
Demonstrated success managing, mentoring, or coaching Change Management professionals.
Strong understanding of change management methodologies and tools (e.g., PROSCI, ADKAR, Kotter).
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to lead through ambiguity and influence without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
Proficiency in Smartsheet, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and related collaboration tools.
Compensation Our base pay range for this position is $104,100 – $173,500.
