Production Designer (Freelance, Part-Time) Remote | Part-time | Ongoing Contract
Our client is looking for a mid-level Production Designer to support their in-house creative team on an ongoing freelance basis. This is a steady, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on print production work and wants a flexible schedule.
Role is remote, but priority will be given to candidates open to coming onsite in the Boston area for hands‑on design work as needed.
About the Role
100% print design — manuals, packaging inserts, and collateral
Layout updates, illustration adjustments, color and line refinements, and photo retouching
Heavy use of InDesign and Illustrator; light Photoshop work as needed
Work within established style guides and ensure ADA compliance
Collaboration via Microsoft Teams; occasional onsite visits in the Boston area for product reference
What They’re Looking For
5+ years of production design experience focused on print
Strong proficiency in InDesign and Illustrator
Solid Photoshop skills for basic cropping, cleanup, and image prep
Understanding of print workflows, photography, and illustration
Detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable managing multiple projects
Background in consumer goods, toys, board games, or packaging a plus
Timing
Onboarding in mid-November, official start early December
