We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Platform team, which builds and maintains the core data infrastructure that empowers all data-driven products and analytics across the company. The Data Platform team is responsible for foundational systems such as the feature store, data lineage, data catalog, access control, and compliance frameworks. In this role, you will design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure data platform components that enable teams to efficiently produce, discover, and use data with confidence. You will also play a key role in defining technical direction, improving system architecture, and mentoring other engineers on best practices for building large-scale data systems. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and operation of data platform services that support feature management, metadata tracking, data discovery, and governance. Architect scalable and automated systems for data lineage tracking, cataloging, and data access management, ensuring observability and traceability across the entire data lifecycle. Collaborate with ML, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-performance data infrastructure for both real-time and batch workloads. Define and implement data governance, compliance, and access control frameworks aligned with privacy and security requirements. Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and developer productivity through automation, testing, and continuous monitoring. Contribute to the strategic roadmap for the data platform, influencing technical decisions and long-term architecture. Mentor engineers and champion best practices in software design, distributed systems, and data infrastructure engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field. 4+ years of experience in software engineering or data infrastructure development, with a track record of building scalable and distributed systems. Strong programming skills in Golang, Python, or Java. Deep understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and metadata management. Proven experience with data governance, access control, and compliance systems. Hands-on experience with cloud-native data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Beam, Dataflow). Strong system design and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and deliver high-impact solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional and cross-organizational teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing or operating feature stores, data catalogs, or lineage systems at scale. Expertise in metadata-driven architectures, data quality frameworks, or data observability tools. Familiarity with data privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and implementation of privacy-by-design principles. Proven ability to lead complex data infrastructure projects end-to-end and influence cross-team technical direction. Experience driving platform adoption and building developer-focused tools that improve data accessibility and governance company-wide.
