Valley Milk, LLC is a state‑of‑the‑art 24/7/365 powdered milk ingredient processing facility on a 30‑acre site in Turlock, CA. The plant is designed for and has capacity to process 2.5 MM pounds of raw milk per day.
The company is owned by a highly successful group of dairy farmers and related dairy professionals.
Our mission is to be a world class dairy ingredient processor and marketer of premium milk powders with emphasis on quality, food safety, and sustainability. Valley Milk sources 100% of its raw milk requirements from designated dairies owned and operated by the founding families, from over 34,000 cows within a 45‑mile radius of our plant location.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions Oversee the day‑to‑day Quality Assurance programs, including food safety, product testing, product release, and compliance to regulatory requirements. Assist and coordinate regulatory audits with the Quality Assurance Manager.
Directly responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the QA Laboratory Staff.
Manage, oversee, and audit the Valley Milk product testing programs.
Maintain product testing and calibration procedures.
Disposition product for release as well as oversee the COA process.
Review and sign all lab and food safety documentation.
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with foreign material and food safety events, product recalls, traceability, and mock recalls.
Maintain current knowledge of trends and changes affecting food safety and USDA plant compliance.
Complete food safety audits and associated reporting as required.
Oversee the Milk Quality program to include the quality bonus to haulers and weekly quality reports.
Maintain and continue development of FDA, USDA, and international food regulatory compliance programs.
Coordinate and assist Quality Assurance Manager to ensure plant facilities are audited and improvements are implemented to Housekeeping/Food Safety Plan/Food Quality Plan.
Responsible for overseeing the inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals and consumables and product testing budget.
Provide production with weekly/daily quality reports during production meetings.
Report off specification product and determine disposition.
Communicate all quality issues in a timely manner.
Trend and develop monthly quality reports.
Support the sales team and Quality manager with quality system request from customers.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the laboratory staff.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment, as well as a laboratory and process manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, multipurpose scanner/photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing some duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type And Expected Hours Of Work The Quality Assurance Supervisor is a full‑time, exempt/salaried position and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. The regular work schedule for the position is M‑F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility for variable hours (including occasional evening and weekend work) as needed to accommodate our continuous business operations.
Travel Any job‑related travel is primarily local during the business day and generally minimal, although some out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be expected to attend trainings, conferences or meetings.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor Degree in Food Science or years of experience in related field desired
3+ years of food industry related experience required with demonstrated advancement in roles of increasing responsibility
Knowledge of manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and standard operating procedures
HACCP, SQF, ISO and GFSI Certifications and/or expertise
Preferred Education And Experience
Dairy processing background experience preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be able to understand, read, write and speak English.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Candidates must demonstrate current US work status eligibility.
