Construction Manager
to support a landmark
water treatment facility
in the Portland area.
About the Role The Construction Manager will oversee all aspects of construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered in line with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and client expectations. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role will serve as the primary interface with the Owner, Engineer of Record, subcontractors, and permitting agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily construction planning meetings and ensure work readiness.
Develop and maintain 4-week look-ahead schedules and support CPM updates.
Monitor progress to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Manage client, consultant, and subcontractor relationships.
Oversee all phases of the project: procurement, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
Supervise construction teams including superintendents, engineers, safety staff, and commissioning personnel.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical) or construction management, or equivalent experience.
10+ years managing municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
8+ years in leadership roles with client and subcontractor interface.
Strong planning, scheduling, and project delivery skills.
Proven ability to lead craft labor and manage field operations.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
Deep understanding of construction methods, union agreements, and industry standards.
Experience with project P&L and business acumen.
