Base Pay Range $90,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr
Director, Executive Recruiting | Accounting & Finance | Human Resources | Permanent Placement | Client Relations One of Vaco's Clients is seeking a pro‑active and collaborative Senior Accountant to join their team. The (hybrid) Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the monthly close process, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements. The ideal candidate will be sharp, communicative, and confident working with leadership and clients in a fast‑paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities Month‑End Close & Accounting Operations
Perform required month‑end close activities, including accurate preparation and recording of journal entries.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations for corporate accounts, including follow‑up on reconciling items.
Prepare monthly external financial statements for specific clients as contractually obligated.
Create and maintain standard operating procedure documentation for all applicable processes.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Lead and contribute to monthly regional financial review calls with Operations and Accounting leadership.
Perform variance analysis and communicate findings effectively to senior leadership.
Support the preparation of various internal and external reports as needed.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with internal operations, accounting, and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Interact professionally with clients and colleagues across multiple departments.
Demonstrate the ability to pivot quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Ideally 2‑6 years of progressive general accounting experience; candidates coming directly from public accounting will also be considered.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in preparing financial statements.
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be confident, personable, and able to interact with senior leadership.
Self‑starter with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment (3 days in‑office, 2 days remote).
Compensation & Benefits
Up to $105k DOE
7.5% annual bonus target.
