Overview

Work location is flexible based on candidates proximity to Urbana, Bloomington, or Peoria. This position provides ongoing assessment of performance, facilitates prioritization of improvement activities, oversees performance improvement projects and ensures successful clinical project implementation throughout the organization. Plans, organizes, develops and maintains a comprehensive performance improvement program to ensure compliance with all state, federal and accreditation standards. Collects, compiles and analyzes data and prepares summaries of outcomes and compliance. This position plays a critical role in supporting the strategic and operational goals of Carle Healths Infection Prevention program. This position coordinates system-wide projects, facilitates communication across departments, and ensures timely execution of initiatives aimed at reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and enhancing patient safety. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage infection prevention projects across Carle Health facilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Assist with regulatory readiness activities, including audits, surveys, and documentation reviews. Develop content, facilitate and lead performance improvement education and training throughout the system. Lead presentations on project status and recommendations. Assist in the development and dissemination of educational materials, training sessions, and communication plans related to infection prevention. Evaluate and investigate infection prevention and control issues and concerns, and make recommendations for corrective activities. Develop, initiate and revise infection prevention and control policies and procedures. Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items for infection prevention committees and performance improvement teams. Support implementation of clinical practices; may support and facilitate implementation and performance improvement activities related to or resulting from patient safety, harm reduction, clinical performance and compliance with the requirements of regulatory and accrediting agencies such as DNV, CMS, IDPH, and Quality Improvement Organizations. Work in collaboration with the team to ensure performance improvement methodologies (PDSA) and lean principles are integrated into the culture for improving outcomes. Participate or facilitate in performance improvement teams. Track progress for process improvement events to ensure completed and documented improvements are realized and sustained. Collaborate with infection preventionists, clinical leaders, and quality teams to support implementation of evidence-based practices. Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for infection prevention metrics including NHSN submissions and internal dashboards. Serve as a mentor to develop skills for department staff regarding infection prevention and control practices.

Qualifications

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification within 1 year The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC). Certified Lean Healthcare Management within 1 year Varies. IHI Open School Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety within 1 year Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Certified in Infection Control (CIC) Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 2 years National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) (Exempt/Not Required). Bachelors Degree in a related field or Nursing. Hospital infection prevention work experience.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $32.05?per hour $55.13?per hour. Compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
