Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator Intermediate Principal with a focus on Linux. The role involves performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems, addressing complex problems, and integrating systems operationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for in-depth analysis and technical support of systems, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
Manage a very complex enterprise environment with over 600 servers (physical and virtual) across 12+ domains.
Handle production, test, and development enclaves.
Provide operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades.
Offer specialized expertise within multiple IT systems such as Windows 2019/2022 server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware hypervisor, and general knowledge of related disciplines.
Perform installation, administration, troubleshooting, and support of server operating systems/services, storage, and Data Center solutions.
Oversee the implementation, integration, testing, and documentation of system specifications.
Exhibit strong technical skills in various systems and storage technologies including Windows Server 2019/2022, Microsoft SQL Server, DNS, DFS, Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DHCP, IIS, VMware ESXi 8, NetApp ONTAP, Cisco UCS/Nexus, ACAS, SCCM, and Hyper-V.
Core Systems: Domain Controllers, Linux servers, DNS, VMware, HPE Blade System, Storage switches.
Supplemental Systems/Software: SQL, Backups, DHCP, PowerShell, Ansible, Share/NFTS permissions, DFS, CIFS, NFS, NETAPP, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat Clustering.
System administration and IT certification in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields required.
Working knowledge of administration and maintenance of Bare Metal hypervisors (VMWare, XenServer, Hyper-V, etc.).
Working knowledge of administration and maintenance of configuration management/automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
Working knowledge of administration and maintenance of Unix/Linux Operating System.
Working knowledge of SAN storage configuration and maintenance.
Working knowledge of basic enterprise networking configuration and maintenance; routing, redistribution, ACLs, NAT, VPN, Layer 2/3 switching, monitoring solutions (Solarwinds/Splunk), encryption devices (KG175, KG250, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be hands-on with systems and technology.
Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a Linux and Windows environment (Windows Server 2019/2022, RHEL, Oracle Linux, etc.).
Hands‑on experience configuring, administering, and creating scripts in a complex environment.
Experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution principles, methodologies, and techniques.
Basic knowledge of Oracle and SQL database management.
Advanced knowledge of virtualization (VMware or equivalent).
Working knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
Strong knowledge of implementing and developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
Experience with scripting and automation tools.
Good communication skills, including effective listening, tact, and follow‑through.
Security Requirements:
Must have a TS/SCI security clearance and be eligible for CI Poly.
Education and Certification Requirements:
BA/BS or equivalent with 8+ years of experience working in the Information Technology field.
DoDI 8570.01M/8140 Certification required.
