*Note: This position requires presence in our San Jose office, 4 days a week.
We seek a strategic, collaborative Senior Videography/Motion Designer to help shape how we tell stories, launch products, and inspire action through world‑class video and motion design. Sitting at the intersection of brand, product, marketing, and comms, this role is responsible for leading high‑impact visual narratives that bring clarity, emotion, and momentum to our most important initiatives.
You’ll work cross‑functionally with design, product, marketing, communications, and executive teams to craft compelling video and motion work—from brand campaigns and product explainers to in‑product animations and internal event content. This role will be integral in setting the creative vision for our motion design work and scaling video as a core discipline—bringing energy, consistency, and beauty to every touchpoint.
This role is central to how Lambda shows up in the world—with video and motion that are as thoughtful and powerful as the technology we build.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the creation of video and motion content that supports marketing campaigns, product launches, customer stories, and events.
Collaborate closely with design, product, and marketing teams to turn complex ideas into engaging video and motion design.
Translate strategic narratives into visual stories that resonate with technical and business audiences.
Establish and evolve our video and motion design language—setting standards for animation, pacing, transitions, and interactivity across mediums.
Develop storyboards, mood boards, style frames, and prototypes to communicate ideas early and clearly.
Bring a critical eye to storytelling—editing and refining video and motion assets to maximize clarity, emotional resonance, and visual impact.
Own projects end‑to‑end—from creative concepting and scripting to post‑production and delivery.
Mentor and direct freelance editors, animators, and production partners as needed to scale high‑quality output.
Build systems and templates for video and motion content to ensure consistency and efficiency across the org.
Contribute to the evolution of our brand expression through video and motion—partnering with design leadership to ensure alignment across all touchpoints.
You:
Are a visual storyteller at heart—fluent in using video and motion to inform, inspire, and persuade.
Thrive in ambiguity, and love shaping creative stories and animation from scratch.
Balance creative intuition with strategic clarity, always designing with purpose.
Know how to collaborate closely across teams and communicate your ideas effectively.
Are highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and timelines without compromising quality.
Are a hands‑on maker who also thinks at a systems level, building for scalability and long‑term impact.
Are both a technical wizz and a gear head when it comes to filming, as well as a bonafide designer and artist when it comes to post‑production, editing, and creating beautiful animation.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience
in video production, animation, motion design, and motion graphics—preferably in tech, creative agency, or product‑driven environments.
Strong expertise in
motion graphics
(animated infographics, kinetic typography, logo animations, explainer videos) and
motion design
(UI animations, transitions, title sequences, brand storytelling).
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of video and motion work, including brand, product, and campaign videos.
Deep experience with 2D animation, with expert level knowledge of video/motion tools like After Effects, Cinema 4D, Spline, Premiere Pro.
Skilled in design tools like Adobe products and Figma.
Deep understanding of kinetic typography, transitions, and basic visual effects, pacing, rhythm, and narrative structure in video storytelling.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple disciplines.
Strong visual design skills with attention to detail, layout, typography, and brand alignment.
Experience working with creative briefs, storyboards, and production workflows.
Experience developing video and motion systems, strong knowledge in plugin‑tool usage, scripting for After Effects or design technologies for digital products.
Experience in video production, lighting, blocking, sound design, editing, and post‑production.
Proficiency in using multiple camera systems including Canon, Sony, Blackmagic etc. Have a solid working knowledge of optics, lenses and other filming equipment.
Audio capture and processing knowledge and experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to capture clean audio for interviews, live events and talk shows.
Ability to work independently and film/shoot when required.
Nice to Have:
Code‑native animation tools and languages like Lottie/Rive, WebGL, GSAP or other web animations.
Proficient in Compositing, rotoscoping, green screen.
Familiarity with the developer or ML/AI space and how to translate technical concepts visually.
