About the role We are seeking a motivated
Associate Mechanical Engineer
to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the
design, development, and testing
of mechanical components, systems, and equipment for both new and existing products. This role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team and requires foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles. The Associate Mechanical Engineer will contribute to projects that involve practical applications of mechanical engineering in consumer and industrial products.
Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and systems from concept through manufacturing release.
Create detailed
assembly and part drawings , Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.
Utilize
CAD software
(preferably SolidWorks) to produce 2D and 3D designs; may also use computer‑assisted engineering tools for analysis.
Build and test prototypes in lab or shop environments to validate design concepts.
Collaborate with Document Control to manage design documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Develop and maintain
electronic help files
and technical documentation for new products.
Conduct product testing and validation to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
Support equipment maintenance and coordinate repair services as needed.
Analyze product performance data and prepare technical reports summarizing findings.
Maintain product databases and contribute to software tools for data entry and analysis.
Research mechanical engineering challenges, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Assist in troubleshooting and improving existing product designs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of
mechanical design
principles and manufacturing processes.
Exposure to electronics packaging and
printed circuit board (PCB) layouts .
Understanding of
regulatory compliance
and validation testing methods.
Knowledge of
high‑volume production
techniques and materials.
Familiarity with
drafting standards , symbols, and terminology.
Strong attention to detail and excellent follow‑up skills.
Ability to contribute to the development of products such as
lighting systems, controls, wiring devices, GFCIs, and home automation solutions .
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or related field.
Minimum
1 year of relevant engineering experience , which may include internships or co‑op programs.
Experience with
mechanical drafting
and AutoCAD; SolidWorks preferred.
Experience in
electro‑mechanical device design
is preferred.
Travel
Up to 5%
