Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative 3D Designer to support our manufacturing operations. This role involves creating accurate 3D models for product development, prototyping, and production. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360). Collaborate with engineers and product developers to translate concepts into manufacturable designs. Create technical drawings and documentation for fabrication and assembly. Support prototyping efforts by designing components suitable for 3D printing, CNC machining, or other rapid prototyping methods. Work with prototyping teams to iterate designs based on testing and feedback. Evaluate prototype performance and recommend design improvements. Ensure prototypes meet functional, aesthetic, and durability standards. Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and performance. Maintain organized design files and version control throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements:
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar). Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing. Experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with materials science and mechanical engineering principles. Degree or certification in Industrial Design Hands-on experience with 3D printing and prototype testing. 3-5
years experience in retail merchandising design and manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/carry reports and materials weighing up to 40 pounds, move about the office, turn on and operate a computer, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone, in writing, or in person, complete the required paperwork and be available to work extended hours with little or no notice in order to provide the customer with information, products, or services. Travel Requirements:
Some travel may be required, while extensive travel is not anticipated. Inter-plant travel may be required to facilitate the company's ability to meet the customer's expectation.
