About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant
with a strong background in
sales and use tax
to join our growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role is key to ensuring compliance with multi-state tax regulations while supporting overall financial reporting and month-end processes. Key Responsibilities
Prepare, file, and reconcile
monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns
across multiple states. Research and resolve tax discrepancies, notices, and audit inquiries from state and local tax authorities. Maintain current knowledge of
sales tax laws, nexus requirements, and rate changes . Assist with
monthly closing activities , including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Support external financial audits and tax audits by providing documentation and explanations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, operations, IT) to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions. Identify and implement
process improvements
in tax reporting and accounting workflows. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
required. CPA or CPA candidate
preferred. 5+ years of accounting experience , including at least
2 years with multi-state sales and use tax . Strong understanding of
GAAP
and general accounting principles. Experience with
ERP systems
(e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and tax automation tools (e.g., Avalara, Vertex) preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Why Join Us
