Job Overview
HCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their West Florida Division is seeking an Associate Pathologist to be based at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Fawcett has approximately 250 beds with a variety of anatomic pathology specimens including breast, colorectal, thoracic, urologic and bone marrow specimens. The practice consists of two pathologists who also remotely cover the surgical and cytology volumes at HCA Florida Englewood hospital (100 beds with approximately 1,400 surgical specimens and 100 non-gyn cytology specimens per year). No gyn cytology or autopsy coverage.
Position Highlights _x000D_ Qualified Candidates: Comfortable with the full scope of AP and CP for community hospital practice Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Active Florida Medical License or eligible to obtain Pathology Volume/Cases: Surgical volumes u2013 approximately 4,000 per year Non-gyn cytology u2013 1,000 per year Procedures (frozen sections and rapid on site assessments) u2013 less than 10 per week Peripheral smears u2013 approximately 5 per week Blood bank reviews u2013 less than 1 per week Oversight of the laboratories within the Free Standing Emergency Departments associated with the two hospitals Incentive/Benefits Package: Competitive compensation package including annual profit-sharing bonus Benefits Excellent benefits package including CME allowance, health and 401k Relocation assistance provided Malpractice insurance provided Qualifications HCA Healthcare Pathology Services employs over 200 board certified multispecialty pathologists nationwide and provides professional services to over 100 HCA Healthcare owned hospitals as well as commercial clients.
