The Role:

The Enrollment and Retention Advisor will adhere to and be guided by the High School Equivalency Program's (HEP) grant goals by recruiting eligible migrant and seasonal farmworker students through personal/professional contacts, referrals, printed bilingual materials, radio advertisement and other. The Enrollment and Retention Advisor will also provide specialized advising in career placement, vocational training, and/or postsecondary education to meet grant's recruitment and placement goals. Job Duties

Recruitment and Outreach -

Supervises and coordinates all tasks and projects related to recruitment. - Coordinates outreach and recruitment including developing marketing materials and conducting direct recruitment campaigns. - Assists HEP Program Director in conducting annual enrollment projections; facilitates enrollment plans to meet annual enrollment and GED completion goals. - Coordinates obtaining of recruitment materials through approved vendors. - Coordinates educational and cultural events for eligible students. - Creates program awareness via presentations and disseminating program information/flyers to local school districts, communities, publications/radio/television media and outside organizations/non-profit agencies. - Participates in maintaining cooperative/partnership agreements, including referral agents within Yakima County area; maintains collaborative relationships with Central Washington region service area migrant programs, school districts, DSHS, Employment Security, Workforce Investment Act, business/employer community and other agencies. - Ensures eligibility of prospective students; conducts quarterly student record audits/reports. - Independently evaluates the student application, academic records and work histories of prospective students, conducts interviews/staffing, and makes decisions regarding acceptance into the program (based on U.S.DOE eligibility criteria).

Advising -

Serves as designated advisor for all program participants; participates in identifying, intervening and providing direct academic and support resources to at-risk student population. - Provides general advising concerning the program admission process, program services, and post-secondary opportunities. - Facilitates career development/planning, placement services and, internships, and employment skills enhancement project, including educational/career cooperative relationships.

Partnerships/Committees/Administrative -

Participates in assessment/testing screening, academic interventions and individual education planning and goal setting; assists Director in development of assessments, questionnaires and procedures for measuring the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction, including assessments and evaluations. - Attends staff, administrative, partnership, semi-annual board and other program related meetings. - Attends local/state educational and community committees/taskforces. - Conducts quarterly, mid-year and annual reports. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Bilingual/Bi-literate in English and Spanish Two years of experience working with underrepresented and diverse populations, specifically migrant/seasonal farmworkers Experience in program outreach, collaboration and as liaison to community social service agencies Experience in advising related to student intervention/retention efforts Valid Driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation Demonstrated ability and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or colleagues to foster a supportive and effective learning and work environment OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position Preferred Qualification

Professional experience with academic planning and career development support/placement Experience in student service tracking, documentation, and report writing Life experiences that demonstrate an ability to contribute to CWU's vision, mission, and values Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote student success Potential to mentor and educate students who will serve diverse populations Competencies

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary

: This position has a minimum annual salary of $41,184 and maximum annual salary of $57,658. Tier 1 : $41,184 - $46,675 ( Expected hiring range ): Considered fair value for a newly hired employee meeting the basic requirements of the job, and those who are new to this level role. Tier 2 : $46,676 - $52,167 ( Potentially considered hiring range ): May be considered if a fully competent applicant has 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, and able to quickly assimilate and consistently meet or exceed performance expectations. Tier 3 : $52,168 - $57,658 ( Longevity range, not considered for hiring )

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Schedule/Appointment

: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / This grant funded position is currently funded through June 30, 2026. Continuation of this position past 6/30/2026 is contingent upon renewed funding being obtained.

Working Conditions

: The Enrollment Retention Advisor position will require job duties in both indoor and outdoor settings; some travel is required for purposes of conducting outreach/networking with organizations and agencies within the Yakima County. At times individual will be at the office for prolonged periods of time performing recruitment calls, advising, extensive data entry, and maintaining filing system. Duties may include working some evenings and weekends; candidate must be willing to have flexible schedule.
