Our client, a rapidly expanding, investor-backed professional services firm, is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and partner closely with executive leadership as the company scales. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and strategic sides of accounting; someone who's proactive, analytical, and eager to help build out structure and process within a growing organization.
What You'll Do:
Oversee core accounting operations: reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and reporting Review financial statements and workpapers; prepare monthly financial packages and present findings to leadership Manage and support team members handling transactional AP/AR and billing Ensure accuracy of QuickBooks and maintain clean, audit-ready records Partner with the CFO and leadership team on process improvement, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives Utilize tools such as QuickBooks and Bill.com to streamline workflows and reporting Who You Are:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA highly preferred) 6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a blend of public accounting and industry experience Strong technical accounting skills and comfort working directly in QuickBooks A self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, sales-oriented culture and doesn't need heavy oversight Collaborative and personable - able to work across teams and communicate effectively with leadership Based in Southwest Florida with flexibility to meet onsite once or twice per month Why This Role:
